Kazanlak Thracian Tomb
Every Bulgarian has studied about it at their primary school - the Kazanlak Tomb with its magnificent frescoes was discovered in 1944. It is the first Bulgarian cultural monument included in UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List and is also one of the 100 National Tourist Landmark Objects of Bulgaria.
In order to preserve the frescoes, the original structure was closed to visitors. A complete replica was built in the immediate vicinity – the architecture, the frescoes, everything was recreated in full accuracy so that you can freely explore and learn about the lifestyle of the ancient Thracians and how they imagined the afterlife.
